Dunedin Indian Association is a non-profit, social and cultural organization with the primary purpose of preserving, maintaining, and perpetuating the heritage of the people of Indian origin, and serving the cultural needs of the Indian Community in Dunedin, New Zealand.
DIANZ manages community events of cultural significance and plays a vital role in preserving and celebrating the diverse heritage of the Indian community. These events can range from festivals and performances to workshops and often include festivals, religious ceremonies, dance performances, music concerts, and traditional food fairs, all aimed at showcasing and promoting the rich cultural traditions of the Indian community. We have organised some popular Indian cultural events including Diwali, Holi, Navratri, Durga Puja and various regional festivals and national celebrations such as Indian Independence Day.
By organizing such events, our organization aims to foster a sense of unity and pride among Indians and wider community members, while also providing a platform to showcase the rich traditions, customs, and art forms of India, cultural exchanges, and learning.
